Rick Coencas attended the University of California at Berkeley where he studied theater arts. He has been taking pictures most of his life and began with SLR photography in the late '70s. For the last several years Rick has moved to a completely digital workflow. Currently he shoots with a Canon 5D digital slr and prints mainly to an Epson 2200. His major focus is landscape and nature photography of the American west, but he also dabbles in urban, industrial and architectural works. Rick continues to study his craft through workshops and trainings.

Rick's images have appeared on the Adobe website and have been used in Adobe products. He is employed as a quality engineer developing digital imaging software. His work and thoughts can also be found at coencas.com and at his blog, futurblla.blogspot.com.
